Letters from the road

Reflections from Mexico and the Journey of finding my way home to myself

I've travelled alone more often than not, yet I rarely end up being alone.

I've always been the social butterfly who strikes up conversations with complete strangers. Somewhere between a shared meal, a dusty roadside café, or a chance encounter in a market, strangers have a way of becoming part of the story.

And because I love sharing those stories with the people I love—the ones who can't travel, those who dream of it but are held back by fear, or simply anyone who enjoys seeing the world through someone else's eyes—I began writing emails from the road a few years ago.

The response was always the same:

"You have to publish these!"

So... here I am.

In 2026, I'm finally gathering those letters, along with the new adventures still waiting to unfold. Looking back, I realize these weren't simply travel stories. They became reflections on life, courage, connection, and the unexpected ways a place can change us if we let it.

Through these pages, I hope you'll travel beside me—wandering colourful markets, discovering hidden corners of Mexico, sharing unforgettable meals, meeting remarkable people, and perhaps seeing the world, or even yourself, a little differently.

And if one of these stories makes you smile, sparks your curiosity, or reminds you of someone who would enjoy the journey too, I'd be honoured if you shared it with them.

Welcome to The Beetle and the Rain.

The road is waiting.
